It is important to acknowledge the work of Joseph Campbell and the influence he has had on our work, and indeed the work of many others through The Hero With a Thousand Faces. The authors of this book are indebted to him for bringing to light the narrative similarities between legends, myths and cultures throughout history. The references to the Hero’s Journey throughout the book are an homage to Joseph Campbell and his elucidation of the eternal quest.
